Dr. Louis Allen was born and raised in Georgia by a widowed mom with three kids.  He escaped to Florida to attend the University of Florida from 1970-1974.  He then went home to attend the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta from 1974-1978.  After that lovely experience Dr. Allen moved with his new bride to Atlanta for residency training at Emory-Grady Hospital.  In 1981 with two children in hand, he and his wife moved to Raleigh, NC to join Winslow, Brown and Allen.  He has been with the practice ever since. 

Dr. Allen is a board certified pediatrician with the America Board of Pediatrics.  His special clinical interests include behavioral medicine, ADHD, newborn care, asthma and allergies.

Dr. Allen has been married to Lynne, an outstanding and caring woman, for 31 years and hasfour outstanding children, Stuart 29, Jordan 27, Martin 24 and the baby Julia 16.  His interests include his children, books about chemistry and physics, golf, time
with friends, and watching his daughter whip up on another opponent in tennis.
