Dr. Louis Allen graduated from the University of Florida in 1973. He then attended the Medical
College of Georgia and graduated in 1978. After graduating from the Medical College of
Georgia, Dr. Allen moved to Atlanta, Georgia to complete his internship and residency at Emory
University and Grady Hospital. After completing his pediatric residency program, Dr. Allen
moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to join Blue Ridge Pediatrics and has been an active partner
since 1981.

Dr. Allen is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Board
of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Medical Associates, the North Carolina Medical
Society, and the North Carolina Pediatric Society. Dr. Allen has been a full-time active staff
member at REX and WakeMed Hospitals in Raleigh. He is also an assistant clinical professor of
pediatrics at UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Allen is a board member and Medical Director of the Tammy
Lynn Center for severely disabled children. Also, Dr. Allen is the Medical Director and clinical
pediatrician for the Franklin County Health Department in Louisburg, North Carolina.

Dr. Allen’s interests include pediatric behavior issues, ADHD, allergy, and developmental
pediatrics.

Dr. Allen is married and has four adult children. He enjoys swimming, golf, tennis, and spending
time with his family.
